Welcome to Cogniq AI

Cogniq AI is a platform built around our own custom AI models. Right now, we're in early access, so things might change quickly. This guide will help you get started with the basics.

Creating an Account

To create an account, tap Sign Up on the login screen and follow these steps:

• Enter your first name.
• Optionally add your surname.
• Provide your date of birth.
• Choose a username (this is how you'll sign in).
• Create a password (at least 6 characters).
• Review and agree to the Terms of Service.

Your username is used to create your account email automatically. You don't need to remember a full email address—just your username and password.

Signing In

To sign in:

• Tap Sign in on the login screen.
• Enter your username.
• Enter your password.
• Tap Sign in.

If you see an error about invalid credentials, double‑check that your username and password are correct. If you've forgotten your password, you can use a CogKey to recover it.

What is a CogKey?

A CogKey is a file that stores an encrypted copy of your password. It's designed to help you recover your password if you forget it.

To create a CogKey:

• Go to your Profile page.
• Tap Create a Passkey.
• Enter your password when prompted.
• Download the generated CogKeyDNT.json file.

To recover your password with a CogKey:

• On the login screen, tap Recover password with Passkey.
• Upload your CogKeyDNT.json file.
• Press Uncensor and confirm the warning to see your password.

Important: Your CogKey is essentially your password in an encrypted form. Keep it safe and do not share it with anyone. It is not a substitute for remembering your password, but it can be a helpful backup.

Privacy & Data

We respect your privacy. Currently, we only store what's needed for you to sign in: your username (which becomes an email internally) and your password. We do not sell or share your data.

Age verification, if applicable, runs entirely on your device and your face is never uploaded.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and how to resolve them:

• "User already exists" – The username you chose is taken. Try a different one.
• "Failed to fetch" / network errors – Check your internet connection and try again.
• Camera unavailable – If you're using a feature that requires camera access, make sure your browser or device has granted permission.
• Stuck on the login screen after being signed in – Clear your browser's localStorage for this site, or use the debug reset page if available.
• Invalid or corrupted Passkey file – Make sure you uploaded the correct CogKeyDNT.json file and that it was downloaded from this app.
• Age Verifier not loading — This isn't as much of a bug as it is your device. When you load up Age Verification, it has to load the Verifier Model into RAM, which may take upto 30s (depending on device).

Age Verification

Age verification is available on the Age Check page. Each account only needs to go through this process once.

Data Collection

We store near-zero data. As of now, we only store:

• Your UUID.
• Your estimated age.
• Whether you've previously completed age verification (stored as a true/false value).

Why Age Verification?

Age verification is entirely optional. You can choose to ignore it for the entire lifetime of your account, and we won't restrict your access.

The feature exists to help us organise and test Cogniq Age Estimation Expert (CAEE) and to provide additional safety information for younger users.

If a user is estimated to be under 13, we may display a warning explaining that some content could be unsuitable and that they should proceed with caution.
